RATED 2 Star Rating - Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk (2 stars) by LIVIA222 on Sep-19-2007 Report Abuse
Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk     I never got a membership because I must sign a 2 year contract and I wasn't willing to do that. The gym is alright...not the best one I have ever been to. The child care hours are minimal. They would not budge on the contract terms and I felt it wasn't worth the $60/month for a month to month membership (with a 2 year contract). ridiculous.

RATED 4 Star Rating - Well Done - Would Use Again (4 stars) by VANHALEN2007 on Feb-21-2007 Report Abuse
Well Done - Would Use Again     i became a member on a student discount for only $19.99 a month, i was lucky on this one. i went to this gym for 3 months and only paid 20 bucks period. they could care less who walks in the gym, who signs the sign in sheet etc. the only thing i couldnt stand was the idiot high schoolers with their egos. they should know that you leave the ego at the door when working out.

RATED 1 Star Rating - Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware! (1 stars) by MSBROON on Dec-19-2006 Report Abuse
Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware!     I recieved an ad in the mail stating I could join for $19.99 per month, which I responded to. When we went in for the "sales pitch" I was told that it would be $99 down, and $31 a month. Ok, not a huge difference. What I was not told was that there was a student discount, and being a student, I would have liked this part. I was also informed that there was a 30 day written notice to cancel. What I wasn't told was that the 30 day written notice to cancel didn't kick in until the contract was over! To be able to cancel, I had to move 30 miles or more away, have a doctor's note saying I was unable to go to the gym, or pay $150. I have chosen to pay this amount just to get out of this terrible, terrible gym. The customer service is terrible, the daycare hours are ridiculous, and the manager doesn't return calls, or deal with any issues that you may have.

RATED 2 Star Rating - Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk (2 stars) by PALM COASTER on Sep-18-2006 Report Abuse
Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk     Terrible customer service. Very rude. Called three times, got three different answers regarding prices and membership fees. No answer on phone on supposed days of being open. Very expensive, high "initiation" fees on top of membership fees. The only plus I could see is that all classes are included, but you must commit yourself to automatic checking account deductions for one year or two years. If you cancel before this time you face a $150 penalty. The Palm Coast location has a large flight of stairs that you need to walk up in order to access the exercise area. Not recommended for seniors or disabled. I believe they do have an elevator though. Do not expect prices to be consistent between Alpha Fitness clubs in different areas such as St. Augustiine, each has thier own agenda. I would never go to this place just because of the absolute rudeness and lack of informed staff. Terrible. No matter what a place offers, customer service is the most important thing. Very disappointing.

RATED 2 Star Rating - Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk (2 stars) by AUTOTECH on Jun-25-2004 Report Abuse
Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk     I have had very poor customer service here. Their web site said one price then when I went to join (after getting coupon in the mail) the price was much higher with a 140 down payment. I went ahead and joined. But then a friend called and was given the same prices as the internet. So I have asked to speak to the owner many times as well as sent three emails and no one has replied. Guess they just raised the price cause I had a coupon. Their day care hours stink too. In Fort Lauderdale 65 dollars a month got you day care at anytime and a pool, full track and steam room.
