Well Done - Would Use Again The fish is always; wonderful and that is all I ever go for and have tried. The only reason I am not giving this a 5 is because of 1 of the mgrs being extremely rude and some of the wait staff's horrible attitude The owner is always' jolly however and if you approcah him he will make a wrong a right.

Well Done - Would Use Again Have been eating at the Golden Lion for a few years now and have never been disappointed. The service can sometimes be slow if you're on the roof but with the tremendous view of the ocean, who cares?!?!? Always a great atmosphere and our out-of-town guests always love it!

Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware! Not sure wat all the hype is for this place. I have been living here since 92 and the place is consistant. Bad food, bad service and now a bartender with an attitude. Music good. Good view of ocean. This place is probably one of the worse or is the worse place to go in flagler county....

Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk Great location and beautiful view. Service is not consistent and is medium to poor. Fish and chips is very overrated. Chips are great but the fish is very small and is well hidden in a batter that is piled on way to thick. We even had problems getting our check to leave. Will NOT go back.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended My husband and I ate at Golden Lion last night. We had a coupon for BOGO dinner and thought we would try it. After reading the reviews on here, I was very hesitant. We had awesome service, our waitress Savannah was GREAT!!!!! We both had burgers and they were cooked to perfection on a fresh roll. We will definately go back and try the wraps soon.

Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk This is by far one of the absolute worst places to eat in Florida. If you have a desire for a dirty establshment with some of the wortst seafood deep fried and dripping in grease, this is the place for you. Each time I pass this place is crowded and all I can wonder is if all of the motorcycles ran out of gas at the same time and stopped to get some.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended As a regular customer of Golden Lion's i would like to say that i have seen a tremendous improvement of the quality of food and service there in the past three years. I eat out there at least 3 to 4 nights a week and can say that I HAVE NEVER HAD A BUG IN MY FOOD. Being that we sit outside and eat those 3-4 times a week, i would NOT be surprised if a BUG FROM OUTSIDE LANDED on my food. IS THAT THE RESTURANTS FAULT?? NO!!! I would almost bet that those people were offered for the food to be replaced and/or taken off the bill even though the resturant can't control the bugs outside. Since Julio has came on board at the Golden Lion and the new chef the food and service has been wonderful. Golden Lion also has alot of hard working waitress, who are working in the heat, the cold and rain, to provide their customers good service, and end up having that cheap customer leave a lousy tip.I would venture to guess that "Ms Onlyme" didn't even leave a tip. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GOLDEN LION!

Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk Would not recommend this place at all. Use to go there a few years back all the time and there were NO problem with food, server or drinks. Went there one Friday night about 3 weeks ago and would never go bsack. He also ordered the mussels and found bugs in his food. The owner comes out and tells us, "WELL THIS IS AN OUTDOOR EATING PLACE" I was like and your point? He had nothing to say. We ate out at plenty of outdoor places and bar-b-ques and never had bugs in our food. Go figure, guess he couldn't think of anything else to say. I will never go back there. 4 years ago everything was GREAT there, now I would not bring my dog to eat there... Took forever to get just soda that we ordered and a side salad, which came out after the meal...NOT worth my gas to drive there... So everyone think twice or look at your food really really good..

Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware! This is the first time in my life that I experienced food poisoning (I'm 64)! I actually thought I was dying. Had the mussels at this place. Will not...cannot go back there!

Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk We really want to like Golden Lion. The location is exceptional. The entertainment acceptable. The food satisfactory. It's a great place to watch shuttle launches. But the service is awful. Finnegans is much better.

Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk Over the years I have come to the conclusion that if resturant has a location or view it doesn't have provide good food or service. Golden Lion is no exception. The location and view are plesant but after that it is all down hill. We were there last night and the music was so loud we could not hear the people sitting at our table not to mention the ocean which is the reason we went there in the first place. Two fish and chip plates and two burgers were ordered by our party of four. The fish was all breading no meat. The burgers (ordered rare) were cooked till they where black as a hockey puck. And yet the were delivered swimming in grease = poor quality beef to start with. When I pointed out to the 300 pound waitress in the filthy size 2 t-shirt that the burgers were not cooked as ordered, she curtly replied. "We don't cook anything less than medium". She might have mentioned that when she took the order... Advice: stay away!

Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware! Good location, average bar food, pot-luck service with the staff. The Golden Lion is located on the beach. Nice views and breezes. The food is average. Wait time for entree' was 37 minutes. A little long. The waitress seemed a little snotty when I asked for extra napkins and another cold brew. I got the napkins, but my brew was only slighty cold. Domestic beer should be served at 35 degrees. No excuses for slightly cold beer. If your not a "local" beware. The front bar staff will reserve seats for "locals only". I don't like discrimination because I'm not a "local". True, I may not be from Flagler Beach, but I am a native Flordian (5th generation). So who's the "local" now? Only 2 stars and those are only for location. I'll spend my "native floridian" money elsewhere. UPDATE: A friend of mine was adamant about going to the "Lion". I told her of my previous experience, but she insisted. Nothing has changed from 2 years ago. The food is still mediocre, the bottled beer is still warm.

Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk I love the atmosphere and location. However, the service at this establishment leaves much to be desired. I've repeatedly experienced poor service, but the treatment I received on July 4th takes the cake. After receiving a warm beer and asking for a cold one, the barmaid told me she could put ice in my beer. After courtesly insisting on a cold beer, one was finally given to me with a serious attitude. It seems the Golden Lion proprietor should start focusing on customer service. Until that occurs, i will pass on the Lion.
