Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk My wife and I had dinner inside. We ordered macaroni items since we are both vegetarians. My wifes meal came to the table with hair in it. The big owner guy came over and told my wife he was sorry and would get her another meal. By then she was so grossed out that she did not want to eat anything. The owner still had the nerve to charge us for my meal and a glass of wine. I thought that the right move would have been to not charge us for food at all so that there might have been a possibility that we may have returned. That did not happen. The owner acted like it was no big deal. The service in this place sucks and the owner is really cheap. You do not even get a salad with your dinner unless you purchase it. This place has Palm Coast food at northeast prices. Beware!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended One of our favorite restaurants in Palm Coast! The food is always excellent, although I wish they would make the tortellini with alfredo a regular menu item instead of just a weekly special. The owners are wonderful and have greeted us almost every time we eat there and the servers have always been among the friendliest in Palm Coast. The dinner rush is CRAZY, so we started going in the afternoons and always receive excellent food and prompt service.

Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk First of all we waited for a table about 40 mins. After we were seated the service was horrible. My friends recommended me and I would not eat there again.I have heard alot of rumors about the way the place is ran , and I finally came to my own conclusion. Not good...... Food is not what it should be but it is the only place in town with some action, So it is not worth spending your money? No.

Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk Over the course of the past week I have sat down at Mezzaluna Pizzaria twice. I noticed that the lines were quite long in the evenings...and I know wonder why. Frankly the pizza is not that good at all, I noticed that the atmosphere is quite welcoming though, maybe the people just want to get out and enjoy the "scenery". However, the servers weren't very genuine during their shifts and were clearly fighting for tables. I enjoyed the surroundings of the European Village, but I did not enjoy the food that much, which really was the reason I went because I heard such great things about the pizza. I'm not saying it's terrible but I am saying it's not all that it's cracked up to be. I would only reccommend Mezzaluna's to someone looking for a night out of enjoying drinks and grabbing a bite to eat. NOT for solely going to get a pizza. ~The Food Critic

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended I ate at Mezzaluna with friends from NYC and the food and service was execelent. I live in Port Orange a good 40 miles from the resturant and wouldn't hesitate to return for another GREAT meal. From the owner Mike to our waitress we couldn't have been treated any nicer and the srevice was fast, the food hot and the drinks cold.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended I am not a big Italian restaurant fan, however I received the best service in the world at this place. My friends and I had dinner and drinks there and our server Danielle was our friendly server. The owner had sat her with what seemed like five or six other tables all at one time so I didn't expect good service. To my surprise she came right over and had bread in hand! Our drinks were never empty and the food came out perfect. I will definately be back and perhaps I will get the courage to ask the waitress out. If she's that good at taking care of all these stangers, then she's probably a really great catch.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended We are snowbirds visiting from Chicago in January 2008. When we arrived to Mezzaluna's we were treated like family. There was a little bit of a wait but Mike, the owner, saw we had two little ones in tow and got us seated almost immediately. When he saw the table was near smokers, he showed concern for my toddler and baby and moved us elsewhere. Also, loved that the waitress brought some pizza dough for my toddler to play with while waiting on our food - what a brilliant idea! Kept my son occupied (and out of trouble!) and happy. The pizza was fresh and delicious. We really appreciated Mike and his staff's attention to detail and family friendly customer service. If you are looking for kid-friendly, and great food, check it out. Thanks!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended I've always enjoyed the pizza here and have also enjoyed excellent service. The owner even brought my 3 year old son some pizza dough to play with while we waited. I'm suprised by the negative reviews... I've been there numerous times and always been pleased.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended The BEST Pizza in Palm Coast. Worth the wait!!! Employees are awesome. If you haven't treated yourself to Mezzaluna you are missing out. We go there once a week. Awesome!!!! Our bill was only $40 for four people last time (probably because we weren't drinking alcohol that night).

Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware! Our experience was very disappointing. First of all, I think the prices are outrageous. My dinner was $19.95 and it did not include a salad or side. We waited 40 minutes for our food to come and both of our meals were not hot. I will say the food had great flavor. Our waitress was great and felt really badly about the service and the temperature of the food. A woman, who I assume was an owner, came to our table twice to check and did remove the charge for the wine we ordered. And to top if all off, we had to listen to the wait staff debate whose tables were whose and their dissatisfaction with that. We will not be going back.

Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware! My family orders pizza quite a bit. This time was on Wednesday night from Mezzaluna's. This had to be the absolute worst excuse for pizza I have ever tasted in my life. I have gotten Celeste frozen pizza from Publix that had more flavor and texture then this. And when I called to complain about it they were pretty rude about it and made it seem like I was just trying to get a free pie out of the deal. I work in an industry where some of the suppliers that deal with these resturaunts also deal with me. When I asked my sales rep about why the pie was so bad, he informed me that they do not make their own dough at Mezzaluna's, they use a frozen dough. I'm sorry, you cannot claim to be "NY Style-pizza" AND NOT MAKE YOUR DOUGH!!!!! Luckily we saw an ad in the Mint Magazine for another place, that I will not mention by name out of respect for this board, but you will see a post by me on thier board. New owners, and located on Old Kings Rd, by Staples. Now that was real NY pizza.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended We just returned from a wonderful vacation in Florida which was topped off with a molto bene meal at Mezzaluna's. Having enjoyed our meal and the hometown hospitality of Mike Jr. we returned the following evening with my brother and his family who live in palm Coast and recommended it! The food was excellent and spending time with Mike and his mom made us feel like we were home. Many thanks again to mike and family for two great evening meals. Let us know if you ever open a Mezzaaluna North we'll be sure to come!

Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware! I had heard so many good things about this place and then I tried it. I aproached the place saw that it was busy. We were greeted and we were told it may take up to 2 hours for a seat. We thought it must be worth the wait. After a two hour wait we were seated by a waitress and then it took about 10 minutes for someone to take our drink orders. The tables around us were filthy. After recieving our drinks the waitress proceed to stand and talk to other staff members whiler we waited to put our order in. She asked us for our orders after about 5 minutes of waiting when my partner called her over. We recieved our meals and they were less than adequate. There was not flavor to any of the food. and it was not heated to temprature. I was very disapointed in my experience. I will never return.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended To Mike, Vera & Mike and all the staff - we love you. Everytime we go to your place, we'll feel like we are with family. My husband, Frankie and I are from NY - and feel like a little bit of home is with us when we're dining with you. You can eat anything and everytime it is fabulous. We have been coming here since it opened and every time someone visits us, we bring them here (especially our friends and family from NY). They are all very impressed! To anyone who has not visited this restaurant yet (and I really doubt anyone has not), you need to GO! Whether you're just in the mood for pizza or a delicious dinner, there is not a better Italian restaurnat anywhere!! You guys have grown your business tremendously and still cater to each person. If anyone feels different (don't post it) think about your day you had, because it is not the restaurant! We love you guys - Frankie & Patti (Diablo)

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended Hubby & I tried Mezzaluna for the first time for dinner tonight & WOWEE! We have lived in San Diego (6+ years) & I was born & raised (35 years) in the White Plains, NY area & I have to say that we both think the pizza was as good or better than anything we have had in the NY metropolitan area EVER! (CA could never even come CLOSE!) We were in heaven, on cloud 9, in dreamland, etc. throughout the whole meal. I ordered the thin crust brick oven plain pizza & hubby had the regular pizza with sausage. We also ordered the garlic knots. I'm Italian through-and-through & absolutely LOVED everything we ate there & cannot WAIT to go back again!!! The biggest compliment I can give is that hubby said the gravy was as good as mine! And we felt well taken care of. To all those who didn't have the same experience we did, I'm so sorry for you! We just can't stop raving about it & will tell everyone we know about how wonderful the food is at Mezzaluna's! Wish there were more than 5 stars to give!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended I don't know of nicer atmosphere and more pleasant surroundings than Mike's Place. He is always there to greet you with a smile, a nice word and a hand shake. The food is excellent, the portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. The whole family works very hard at creating good food, a pleasant atmosphere at a very reasonable price. I've read some of the reviews and it is hard to believe some of the remarks (Negative) that some people have written. They must have had a bad day in general. I am Italian and I know what good Italian food is. There food is good home cooked Food prepared by Mike's wife. Try it you won't regret it. When I am in Palm Coast, I eat there as often as I can.

Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware! And i thought pizza was suppose to have flavor. This place served pizza that tasted like cardbord and I think that the cardboard had more taste. At least the cardboard was probably hotter. And the service if you can call it that was terrible. When ever i wanted a refill or even to get the check was like a big production.I guess the employees dont do their job well as I heard one of them tell another that the owners sucked and they were leaving for a more friendlier place.Bottom line..STAY AWAY

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended The first thing you'll notice when you go to Mezzaluna Pizzeria is that they're always busy...with good reason! The food and service is AWESOME! I come from a New York Italian family, so let's just say that I'm a tough customer when it comes to Italian food! Mezzaluna has a selection of Italian dishes that are typical fare at Grandma's, but not at an Italian restaurant, like broccoli rabe & sausage or escarole & beans. I highly reccomend those dishes and others. I just read a review that was less then complimentary. I suppose everyone has a right to their opinion, but I just don't get it! I've been to Mezzaluna many, many times. Their service and quality has always been very consistent! My dad lives down here now, but is originally from the Bronx...we went to Mezzaluna for his birthday. He thoroughly enjoyed himself and said the sauce tasted like his mother's! Believe me, I've never tasted sauce that rivaled my grandmother's! Great food...great service...mangia!

Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk My boyfriend and I went to Mezzaluna for dinner during tropical storm Ernesto. We figured they would be open even with the storm coming. We were greeted by Mike Sr. and sat to the table we wanted. The visits before have been delicious. But this visit was so poor that we will never go back. They are trying to expand and it's obvious that the arrogance is compromising the food. The great bread that they serve regularly was dry and tasteless and cold. We asked Jess, our waitress, if she could find us some fresh, that serving was worse. Then we asked our busboy to try, and it was the same old bread. Then Mike Sr (Mikey, his son, walked by us and didn't even ask us how everything was) came up and asked us how we were doing and we asked him about the bread. He proceeded to ask my boyfriend to follow him to show him what he is trying to do. He showed him a warming oven that they are keeping the bread to be able to keep up with the demand. Well, the bottom line is that they use to cook the bread per order and it was amazing. But now they cook it and keep it warm all day and it was cardboard. No excuses. The pizza was not the same either. The crust was flavorless and the sauce had no seasoning. I had the Chicken Parm with Penne and Alfredo sauce (which they charged extra for) and it tasted like it all came out of a jar. I feel that if I was paying $14 for chicken Parm, I should get fresh bread and any sauce I want. The bill was $42.00 and it was very disappointing. As far as the service...Jess get out of there. Come up to Carrabba's( St. Augustine) and serve some food that you can be proud of and make some real money. On top of that you won't have to put up with the arrogance of Mike and Mikey. The restaurant is getting too big for their britches, get a grip and go back to the basics.

Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk Cannot see what the rave is about the pizza. I'm from Brooklyn and Jersey and know what pizza should taste like. I asked for the pie to be well done and crisp. It came out limp and the cheese was like bubble gum. I would not recommend this place and never go back. The service was good and fast if you like below expectations food.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended Mike you're the GREATEST!!! This place has the best Italian Food by far. Their pizza makes me think I'm back in Brooklyn and there you found the best. The staff is always accommodating and very friendly. The portions are large and the price very reasonable. You may have a wait but it's worth it and they're expanding their seating. Kudo's to you. Whoever gave this place a 1 or 2 star must think Pizza Hut is wonderful.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended I moved here in 1997. My two sons lived with me then and like pizza, so we tried a lot of places. Couldn't find any pizza I liked. (I'm sorry...there are GREAT foods in the south, but the pizza up north is better!) I like Uno's pizza for its somewhat sweet sauce. And then I tried Mezzaluna and it is great!!! By far the best pizza in the Palm Coast/Flagler area and the prices are very reasonable. I am going back and I will bring friends to share in their wonderful food.

Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware! Absolutely the worst pizza I have ever tried. Stay away from this place. Zero spices, the sauce was weak and sour, tasted like tomato paste from a can. And the crust? Cardboard would probably taste better then the crust at this place. They got the atmosphere and the decor, but if your food tastes like cardboard, you should not be in the restaurant business. I feel cheated. They recently opened in this new european village, but they should get a real chef that knows how to cook. They must be making their money on The Season from the tourists. And all these glowing reviews, these people are either lacking taste buds, or the restauarant is posting these reviews by itself.

As Expected - OK to Recommend I was pleased with the look of the place and the staff was friendly and seemed to enjoy there jobs. My food was good. It's not the best calzone I have had, but I had no complaints about it either. My only complaint was the temperature of the dining room. It was so hot that were sweating by the time we got our drinks. It was even hotter outside so inside under the fan was the only option. After another customer complained they turned the air on, but I was almost done with my calzone. Bottom line... great atmosphere, good food, good service, but nothing to distinguis themselves from any other pizza shop. 3 stars.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended Absolutely the best pizza anywhere in FLA. Service is top notch. It is most definitely worth the wait. We went there a few weeks ago, there was a long wait and our 9 year daughter was chatting with the owner and mentioned she was hungry. He was so nice to her and said he was sorry for the long wait and then brought her out a slice of pizza to tide her over. Not many places treat their customers like that. We will be going back again and again.
