Patron Reviews for Europa Lounge & Bistro [TEMPORARILY CLOSED]

RATED 3 Star Rating - As Expected - OK to Recommend (3 stars) by HARRY on Jul-14-2012 Report Abuse
As Expected - OK to Recommend     I tried this restaurant because of the reviews about the food and also to check out the Indian food offered on the menu. I ordered their chicken tika masala and was most suprised at the unusual taste of the dish. Not really unpleasant, just odd. A chicken tika massala just does not have the spices and flavors that their dish has. A bit disappointed.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     I recently chose Europa to hold the Flagler County Bar Association Holiday Party (Dec. 2011). We had approximately 40 guests attend and eat snacks along with cocktails, followed by dinner. The food was first rate, the service fantastic, the atmosphere was great, and the live entertainment was just right for the evening. I have received nothing but raves from the members regarding the choice of Europa for the party. By far, it was the best party we have held during my four years in organizing the Holiday Parties.   Bill Bosch President Flagler County Bar Association

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     I want to thank everyone at Europa for a fantastic 40th birthday party! Everything was perfect... the food, the service, and the atmosphere were excellent. I highly recommend Europa for anyone's special celebration, event, or occasion.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     With the help of Europa at European Village, I was able to surprise my husband for his "40th" birthday this past Saturday night! Great food, great atmosphere, wonderful live music. Service was excellent and many of our relatives and friends were from out of town and were impressed. It didn't even matter that we had "picky" eaters at the table since the menu is so varied, anyone can find good food to fit their taste! The other patrons in the restaurant seem to be enjoying themselves as well. My husband and I have been to Europa for dinner in the past and have always had a special experience and love the fact that you can get smaller portions of the delicious food! Thank you Ambrose, Alida, Alex and Carlos..................

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     We may be Europa's neighbor, but we aren't biased...Ambroz makes the BEST drinks in town, and the atmosphere is second to none in Palm Coast. A classy, elegant place to relax and take in some live piano or violin...and a great martini!! The new tapas menu is awesome.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     My wife and I recently spent one week in Palm Coast and during that time ate twice at Europa, an unusual experience since we rarely eat at the same restaurant twice while on vacation. However, we were so impressed with the food, the service and the ambience, that we had to return. The second time was on a weekend when there was a violinist - also playing other instruments - who played some very pleasant dinner music. The menu offered an ecletic variety of foods, both international and American, with two options as to aize of servings, in each case very reasonably priced. I do not often offer feedback to restaurants we visit, but I had to for Europa. You will not be disappointed by a visit there.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     My wife and I and four of our friends recently went to Europa at European Village after reading reviews on Palmcoast.biz. What a treat! We dine out at least 3 times a week, in the big city we come from, and now in Northern Florida. We usually go to St. Augustine and Jacksonville due to a dearth of interesting dining experiences in Palm Coast. So how did we miss this gem? Perhaps they don’t advertize much. But right from the time of arrival until we left, we had a great time. The staff and management strive for 100% customer satisfaction, the tapas style appetizers and entrees are exquisite and very reasonably priced, and the electric violinist on a recent Saturday night was better than a concert hall professional. We liked Europa so much we went back the next week and stayed until 1am (they have an excellent late night menu). Highly recommended!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     This was our first visit to the Palm Coast area and we literally stumbled upon the Europa cafe. We were met outside by a charming character, Ceasar, who came out the door and not only explained the menu but then offered to give us a tour of the cafe! From the greeting to the ambiance to the food and the service....a wonderful experience....and though we were planning to eat in St. Augustine the next evening.....we returned to the Europa cafe! Highly recommend this charming cafe to all! Thanks to all the staff for making us feel right at home and very welcomed! Oh...and the food.....EXQUISIVE!!!!!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     What a wonderful place to have a party! We live in St. Augustine but my parents live in Palm Coast, so, like everybody else, we have been to the European Village occasionally for the past 5 years. Although we've enjoyed Europa's martinis and late night lounge a number of times in the past, their old menu was not appealing to us, so we never ate there. About a month ago, they introduced a new menu, mainly eclectic tapas and petit entrees, most under $10! What a wonderful idea! My wife and our friends have eaten there several times since, and have never been disappointed. The taste, price, quality and service cannot be beat. So we decided to have my wife's birthday dinner there. There were 22 people in our dinner party, we pre-picked our entrees, and had a great time. We even danced to Cesar's wonderful Latin flavored life jazz! Highly recommended!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     I was back in my hometown Palm Coast from college in New York and someone told me there is a New York style bistro/bar/lounge in town called Europa. I went there for dinner last Saturday. They have a menu that is definitely unique for Palm Coast. My family and I enjoyed our dinner very much and I stayed with my friends for the late night bar scene. A hidden gem in Palm Coast!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     Europa had a free wine/martini/appetizer tasting on Friday 6/18. I went with several of my girlfriends, because we all love wine and martinis. As usual, everything was delicious! But we were pleasantly surprised to see a new summer menu at Europa. I had dinner there a month ago, and while the food and service was impeccable, the menu was limited. Their new menu is much more extensive with several new and exciting items, while their old favorite dishes (like their signature Talk of the Town - filet mignon stuffed with crabmeat) are still there. Their new menu is unique and excellent! I know because I dine out a lot. It has a tapas/appetizer section and a petit entree section. Basically, the entrees are smaller with nice-sized sides, but the prices are less than half!! For example, you can have a filet mignon surf and turf with sides for around $10! I think once the word gets out, they'll be packed. My friends stayed till 2am and danced all night (Europa becomes a night club after 10PM)!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     My boyfriend and I love going out for dinner and to bars and clubs. We used to go to Daytona, Jacksonville, St. Augustine and sometimes Orlando. However, after we got a $300 ticket on I-95 and points on my license a few months ago, we basically stayed in Palm Coast. Boring! Nothing but fast food places and dive bars. Then someone told me about Europa. I had never been there until New Year's Eve, and now I go there every week. What a great find! It's a beautiful little lounge and restaurant, with a full liquor bar and fine cigars, indoor/outdoor seating, great food, live entertainment, and they turn into a dance club with DJ's and effects at 10PM! Right here in Palm Coast. Why go anywhere else? Matter of fact, the ambiance at Europa is so different and eclectic, I don't believe any other place like this exists. The lounge/dining area is very classy but not stuffy, and he bar area is super modern. The staff & management is very accommodating. You have to check Europa out!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     I moved to Palm Coast from Ann Arbor six months ago with my family. Ann Arbor is a really nice medium sized city with lots of nice restaurants and clubs, we were very used to going out to nice places to dine and dance. The first few months in Palm Coast were a disappointment. I thought the town was full of dive bars and fast food restaurants...until we discovered Europa at the European Village. What a gem! Their food is to die for, the chef is great and the service is excellent. The prices are very reasonable, and the ambiance is top-notch. They have live entertainment with a dinner-dance atmosphere. At 10pm, Europa becomes a dance club, with a very eclectic dance floor, club lights & effects, AND live DJ's with the latest dance music! In Palm Coast to boot! My friends, family don't have to go to Daytona or St. Augustine anymore. We have found our spot right here! Ambrose, the manager, is very hard working, gracious and accommodating, and this trickles down to the rest of the staff!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     Since the kitchen was taken over by Bill Willis in November 2009, the food has been delicious! My wife and I were there on opening day, and have eaten there several times since. We have been there at dinner time, not when the late crowd comes in. The food is great, catering to my love for seafood and to my wife's love of beef. The servers are friendly and attentive. My best description is, "A fancy New York restaurant at Palm Coast prices!" Caesar plays nice background guitar music to complement the meal. I have recommended it to friends, and they have not been disappointed. P. S. Ask about the sorbet before the main course.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     Great place.. Been going for years even when it was the Piano Lounge and the staff is great and the food and music is kick ass. Who cares what others think with a negative attitude. The place is great and I agree go to check it out first hand and than comment.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     I've been going to Europa since they opened, even before I turned 21, just to drink sodas and enjoy the piano music. Later, I had my 21st birthday party there and it was a blast! I kept going after they added the kitchen. Europa evolved from a piano bar to a full restaurant, lounge and club, the best in Palm Coast. Recently they brought in a new chef and the new menu is great. Although Europa has great ambiance and drink specials, and the food is very good, I keep going back because Ambroz (the manager or owner...and I don't know what he is...doesn't matter) is very friendly and gives respect and individual attention to every customer. The rest of the staff follows this example. This is a small town and everyone I talk to says the same thing about Europa...great drinks, great food and great people. Because of the bad economy and the bad job market, things have slowed down a little, but it is still exciting to spend an evening at Europa. The only place of its kind in Palm Coast.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     I went to that Halloween Party and it was crazy! I also went to their New Years Eve last year when Jason was the dj and he and some other dj killed it. I will be there this year for sure. My whole crew and their girls already got on the list for the vip room. Seriously some people are haters. Sorry Palm Coast there is a new place to chill and some haters try to bring it down. Well I cant speak for anyone else on here but I have no problem telling you my name and my whole crew can verify this IS the spot to be if you are in Palm Coast. It dose take a bit long to get a drink at times but where else do you have a bar in town with promo nights with Jager, Patron, Budlight girls, ect every month... giving out free stuff and in my mind the cheapest drink specials ANYWHERE. I agree with Eric Keep it up fellas and you know your loyal customers will always back you guys up no matter what.   Mike and the crew!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     Im from Phili and back home our bars are bigger and busier but for the area this is the only spot ill chill.. I went to Mc Characters, Mc Henerys, Smiles and some Outback looking place in Bunell who claim they are a night spots but all are the types of bars that came to mind before I moved here when I would think of what I was leaving and going to.   The girls are slamming for the area and the music is tight. Its defiantly the only place in Palm Coast to hear good house music and new shit. The manager Jason, Ambroz and Chris all buy me and my friends shots when we show up and treat us like family.. I dont know to many other places like that. I agree with these others you need to try it before you knock it. Keep the parties up guys! Your Halloween party was off the hook and we all are looking forward to New Years.   -Eric

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     Greetings! I live at the European Village - 7 months now - and I go to Europa almost everyday. Here are the bad points: on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, Europa is like a dance club..so the music is loud and if I try to sleep in my unit, its not easy, but when I'm at Europa, it's a whole lotta fun! Sometimes they get so packed, it takes a while to get a drink, but its worth the wait. The good points: the new menu is to die for (I order out from there every week), everyone is polite and friendly and the drinks are very affordable. As far as the bad reviews, seems like jealousy to me. Why would anyone go back if they hated it so much? Also, by being there so much, I have gotten to know everyone, including ambroz. My friends who live at the Village and I have invited him to chill with us upstairs on many occasions and he always politely says he has to go home, and that's the policy for the rest of the staff, none of them hang out with us. It's a great place folks!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     I've been going here for close to 3 years now, and have yet to see what earlier reviews spoke of. Service is great from the entire staff. Great environment, and always amazing deals. Everyone there is very professional, especially Ambroz. Any family or friends birthdays, or any other cause to celebrate, we come here. I agree every one owes it to themselves to go to Europa and see for yourself. If it's your first trip, I doubt it will be your last. -J

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     Had dinner with some friends the other night and was told about these crazy accusations on here so being a regular for 2 years we all thought we should leave real feedback about Europa. I really like the staff. Ambroz always greets us and never ever has made me or anyone im with feel uncomfortable, I think the bartender's Chris, Steve, and the tattoo girl (sorry I didnt remember her name ) were great and they make great drinks and yes it takes some nights about 20 min to get a drink and yes sometimes its to busy outside and there are not enough tables and chairs for everyone but over all lets face it, Europa is the nicest looking place in town. The djs they have place real dance music, and the drinks are the cheapest in town. Dont listen to me or anyone on here if you have not gone before. Just go and be the judge for yourself.          Kristen ,

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     My gf and I moved to Palm Coast about 5 months ago and dont really go out much. When we do we hit up Mezzalunas for a slice and grab some drinks at Europa Bar. The staff are from what we see are professional and they are the only staff that work in a bar that are dressed nicely. We dont smoke so that rules out most of the bars in the area and being from the L.A area we are used to a more chill bar. We are in out early 20's and think Europa is our only spot in town to hang and meet people with out any issues. We dont personally know the staff or Mr Ambroz but we still always are treated by them with respect. If you want to have a date night or hang with friends in a clean and classy environment than try Europa.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     I don't really believe in these type of opinion forums because that's exactly what they are, individual opinions. People should experience a business themselves and form their own opinions instead of believing what they read. However, I read the previous reviews and felt compelled to add my opinion. Consumers often complain when they don't like something but rarely give kudos when deserved. I am a 51 year old transplant from a big city and have been going to Europa for over a year. It is an excellent place! I have had nothing but polite treatment from everyone, and their drink prices are the best in town. Their new menu is excellent. I don't know if Ambroz is the owner or not, or the manager, and I don't really care. I have been there early in the evening and sometimes very late, and from my observations, they run a class act, and Ambroz is polite and gentlemanly. I agree, it seems like one of the reviews is a personal vendetta. I highly recommend Europa to everyone.

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     Seems like a previous reviewer has a personal agenda against Europa or the manager Ambroz (yes, I was told he is only the bar manager, not the owner, and the kitchen is managed by an experienced chef). Otherwise, how would the reviewer make a claim like that? Is he/she a disgruntled former employee, a jealous boyfriend, or even a business rival? Did the reviewer take a survey of all the young women who supposedly are the target of the manager’s attentions? Did the reviewer go back to Europa repeatedly, over an extended period of time, IN SPITE OF HIS/HER DISLIKE OF THE PLACE, and noted down everyone's behavior? Just doesn’t make sense. I just wouldn't have gone back! I am a 25 year old woman who has been frequenting Europa for over 3 years. My girlfriends and I've always been respected, never harrassed, and, and although Ambroz and the staff are very friendly, we've never observed or heard anything like that. Europa is a fun, safe place, with great food, staff, music and ambiance!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     First of all I am a resident of Palm Coast and not associated with this business in any way. With that said this place is great. It's a relaxing atmosphere, great decor, and the staff is friendly. This is basically a bar/club scene. The piano bar gets little use because nobody is ever on that side, its' sad really because the piano player that ive seen there a couple times is really good. Very nice establishment just seems to lack people. As most of you know palm coast basically has 0 night life so this place is nice to have close to home to go out and grab a drink. They are also open late which is convenient and also serve food until 2:30 am. It is definately worth checking out.

RATED 1 Star Rating - Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware! (1 stars) by JANENJIM on Nov-03-2008 Report Abuse
Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware!     My husband and I had the unfortunate experience of stopping for cocktails at Europa. Our intentions were to relax and listen to some piano music. They advertise as a Piano Bar and they DO have a piano, but they had no one in place to play. You would think, on a weekend, a piano bar would actually hire someone to play their piano. Their drinks were overpriced; and their staff inattentive. When finally getting the attention of a dawdling bartender, he acted as if he were doing me a favor by serving me. The staff, in general, are rude and not deserving of employment. The owners, not correcting these problems, are not deserving of repeat business. This is a “Sorry Excuse” for a Piano Lounge and not in line with other business in the European Village. Footnote. We returned to European Village to visit the wine shop across from Europa. You can expect the same inadequate service and over priced products from this business as well. They are owned by Europa. At least they are consistent.

Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware!     I shall prelude by stating….. I am in no way associated, now or in the past, with Europa Lounge & Bistro or The European Village. Nor am I a competitor of Europa Lounge & Bistro or any of the other business in The European Village. I am a Palm Coast resident writing a review based on my experience at this establishment.   Its unfortunate when businesses neglect the most important element needed to keep them in business...“Customers”. Europa has taken the position of thinking… “Where else are they going to go?”. For you who may not live in the area, Palm Coast is a community limited when it comes to “The Nightlife”… Unfortunately Europa takes advantage of this. Yes, Europa has a charming atmosphere, but that’s where it ends. The bar staff, management, and owner (Ambroz Ferrena) are as unprofessional as any group of people can possible be without intentionally trying. Steer clear of Europa, it is nothing more than a well disguised local saloon.

Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware!     I am definitely not one to jump to conclusions(and after many visits and continuous discourteous treatment)... ok... so a good atmosphere but beware... employees and management are unproffesional... i have been in the hospitality industry for 8 years, and have never seen an establishment so unregarding to its clientele... having poor(unprofessional) employees reflects badly upon your business!! I work in a position that crosses paths with a wide variety of flagler county residence and i will warn all--of the poor managemant and un-professionalism that stems from this establishment. Your company is only as good as the staff you employee... and in my multiple visits to Europa, I have not enjoyed even one positive experience!!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     My wife and I have lived in New York, Minneapolis, Massachusetts, Cleveland and now Palm Coast. We found this restaurant to be as good as any we have ever visited.   Mathew and John prepare some of the best meal that you will ever taste. The staff is friendly and set the pace of the meal to your liking. Ambroz always spends a few minutes with you and Mathew (the Chef) visits the patrons to see how the liked their meal. Just a first class place to eat and have a fun evening. And if you want something special, just ask! ENJOY!

Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     We love going to Europa for drinks & apps after work! It's a one of a kind place in Flagler County. We love the fact you can sit outside or inside. The bartender Steve always has a new drink he's experimenting with and one of the owners Ambroz is always there to greet us. I highly recommend this place!
