RATED 1 Star Rating - Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware! (1 stars) by LACKAWAXEN on Apr-01-2016 Report Abuse
Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware!     Disgusting odor all throughout. ( Other Rehabs rarely, if ever, have this.) Dank, dreary, depressing, dirty place. That front door situation; WOW!!! Air quality is awful. When I visit for more than 15 minutes, I leave with a sore throat. Some staff were great. Some were horrible. Zero communication between the staff.

RATED 2 Star Rating - Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk (2 stars) by GSUM1 on May-28-2013 Report Abuse
Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk     My mother went to this facility for re-hab on her knee. She was doing well and one evening while we were out on our usual evening walks, she and I were discussing her progress and when she should return home. She was fine and clear as a bell with no dimensa ever. The next evening I went to visit (I went every evening for the entire 7 days) she was eating her dinner off of her bed mattress and had spilled food all over herself. She had no clue what was going on and was acting crazy. I called for the nurse and the nurse came in and said my mother's blood pressure was very low and I should not take her out of bed. I insisted to know what was going on as my mother did not even know who I was. The sent my mother to the hospital where the doctor removed her sock and found a bright red infection on my mother's toe. Don't know how long it had been there but my mother was spetic and the infection rapidly spreading thru her body. She spent 4 days in the hospital until she was stable.

RATED 1 Star Rating - Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware! (1 stars) by VERY SAD on Jan-29-2013 Report Abuse
Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware!     My mother was in the care of Flagler Pines for a total of four (4) days and PASS A WAY. So Sad because she was in perfect health. At 11:45 January 25,2013   I received a call from Flagler Hosptal, telling me my mom was there. No one from Flagler Pines contacted me. Less then 6 hours later Mom Pass. I do not Recommend anyone to send a family member to Flagler Pines. Because they will never come home again. Very Sad Daughter Debra M.

RATED 2 Star Rating - Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk (2 stars) by CAROLSS on Jul-19-2011 Report Abuse
Below Expectations - Try at Own Risk     Rehab was right on. But for nursing care it left much to be desired. It was mostly night shift that there was a problem. They took forever to answer call light and spoke harshly to patient once call light was answered. I suggested to pt to report the incidents but pt was afraid of repercussions later.

RATED 1 Star Rating - Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware! (1 stars) by MICKI on Mar-16-2011 Report Abuse
Unacceptable - Watch Out, Buyer Beware!     I called from PA to check on my mother and was told she was eating, drinking, and only napping. The next morning called again to find out she was taken to the hospital after 2 days of throwing up and refusing all food and drink. After just 3 days at Flagler Pines, I flew to Florida and thought we were losing her. When inquired as to how this could happen, was told her fist day of throwing up was never reported and they would check into it. Still have not heard!

RATED 4 Star Rating - Well Done - Would Use Again (4 stars) by TEMPUS on Oct-11-2010 Report Abuse
Well Done - Would Use Again     Therapists here seem to be a strong point. Case management is a weak point. Nursing seems fine for daily needs but maybe not the 'big picture', so it helps if family members or family doctor get heavily involved to make up for the 'big picture' deficiency in getting folks ready to return home if that is the goal.   Food was rated as fairly good by visitors and our family member. Facility is older, but staff seems to show better than average concern or interest in long term residents. Definitely need to improve the odor of tobacco smoke which blasts in from smoking porches and entrances, every time major doors are opened! Also present on some staffer clothing, in heavy doses. An 'air cutrain' would take care of doorways or simply move smokers further away so that non-smokers, who are trapped there, don't have to suffer.    This condition has been present for at least the last 9 months or so of visits to various residents there.

RATED 5 Star Rating - Top of the Line - Highly Recommended (5 stars) by CEVIN on Aug-16-2006 Report Abuse
Top of the Line - Highly Recommended     All I can say is in the beginning when a friend's father was put in there, the family was kind of doubtful. But I have to say, before he died last April 2005 of a Rare Fatal Brain Disease, he was treated like royality! Joanne at the front desk was absolutely caring, loving and so kind. Mostly everyone there was!! They helped to make his passing as comfortable as anyone could ever imagine. No one will ever forget the love and kindness the workers gave each and everyday. We want to thank the nurses and specialists. "L" the nurse was great! Anita was so wonderful too., and the people in the physical theropy dept. They worked with such gentleness and kindness. You all helped make his passing as peaceful as possible for all of us and that WE ARE VERY GREATFUL FOR! THANK YOU & GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
